It’s March 2023. I’m back at home for Spring Break and SXSW in Austin. I wake up to about 10 phone calls and messages from one of my friends Miranda, who is also at SX. I answer the phone, and she immediately goes, “Marty, how long will it take you to get to Austin?” I mention that I am an hour out. She goes “Perfect, go to the airport at 3pm, and bring your camera. Boygenius is doing a popup and only industry photographers know.” Next thing I know, I’m shooting photos of one of my favorite bands of all time.
